​Pápa, 26 June 2020 - We are proud to announce that Heavy Airlift Romanian Wing pilot Lt Cdr Simona Maierean is the first European female to be certified as aircraft commander in the history of the SAC program.

Lt Cdr Maierean have since arriving in the program, completed all steps from co-pilot to aircraft commander, and on 25 June 2020 she received the certification as aircraft commander.
