The mission transporting 34 cargo pallets from Tampere, Finland to Incirlik, Türkiye, took two days with a SAC C-17 taking off from Pápa, Hungary Saturday morning and, after completing the Tampere-Inclirlik route twice, returning to Pápa on Sunday night..
With two full SAC C-17s, Turkish authorities and disaster responders received blankets, heaters, tents, food, generators, and maternity and women’s health equipment from Finland.
This mission has been the SAC’s ninth to Türkiye after a devastating earthquake hit the region in early February. Since 7 February, the SAC has transported 340 tonnes of equipment and personnel aiding search and rescue and humanitarian efforts on behalf of its Member Nations Finland, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden and the United States of America.
